Access Cash

A debit transaction is an electronic payment allowing cardholders to access funds from their checking account during a point of sale purchase using their debit card and their Personal Identification Number (PIN). The cardholder must enter their PIN to authorize payment of goods. Once the transaction is authorized, the money is debited from the cardholder's checking account and credited to the merchant. This service allows customers to securely make purchases using their checking account. With USSFCU’s expanded functionality, you are able to request a cash withdrawal during your transaction. The cash withdrawal amount will vary by participating merchants, and is at the merchant’s discretion.

PIN-based point-of-sale purchases change the way transactions will be processed by a merchant; you will be asked to enter your PIN at the time of the transaction. Instead of choosing “credit”, and choosing debit, you have a more secure transaction that also allows you to request cash back during your point-of-sale purchase. Transactions will post to your account immediately. Cash back POS “debit” transactions will not accumulate points as these are only accumulated on signature-based transactions.
Merchants like Target and Wal-Mart may offer cash back on point of sale purchases. Look for the CU24 logo or ask the cashier if cash back on PIN based point-of-sale purchases is an option.

USSFCU is offering this solution to make it easier for our members to withdraw cash from their Senate Checking account when an ATM machine is not available. This added functionality provides you with more options and greater access to your account at US Senate FCU.
It depends on the participating merchant. Merchants will implement their own cash limits. Not all merchants may elect to participate in cash back point-of-sale transactions, please ask merchant before proceeding.
Your PIN is the same one you enter to get cash out of the ATMs. If you have any questions about resetting your PIN, please give us a call. You can also stop in to one of our branch locations to have your PIN reset.
By entering a PIN, you ensure that you are the cardholder authorizing the transaction.

If you have available funds in a savings or in an EasyLine or SenateLine overdraft account, funds will be transferred to your checking account to cover the PIN-based debit transaction. If you have exhausted your savings/overdraft protection accounts and you have opted into Member Privilege (overdraft protection), the transaction will be paid and a NSF fee charged. You will need to opt into Member Privilege (starting August 15, 2010) to have this option available to you.
