United States Senate Federal Credit Union

Denis P. O’Donovan, Ileana M. Garcia and Margaret “Margo” P. Rushing will retain their Board seats for another term. All were nominated to the Board by the Credit Union’s Nominating Committee in December 2009 to fill three positions under the Credit Union’s Board established election schedule. There were no other nominations accepted and no petitions for nomination, therefore, pursuant to Section 2 of Article VI of the Credit Union’s Bylaws there will be no election for 2010.

Chairman Judy Kimmitt Rainey will declare the nominees elected by general affirmation at the upcoming Annual Meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 6:00 pm in SR–325.

Denis P. O’Donovan (Incumbent)

Credit Union member since 1970. Chief Clerk for Senate HELP Committee 1998 to 2007. Thirty-seven years of Senate service including Commerce and Rules Committees, Disbursing and Sergeant at Arms. Served the Credit Union on Loan Policy Committe (1988-1990), as Board Secretary/Treasurer (2000-2003) and Chairman (2003-2007). As Chairman, created member-focused culture, grew assets over $50 million and 7,500 members, enhanced disaster recovery and opened up new channels to deliver member-focused service.

Ileana M. Garcia (Incumbent)

Assistant Financial Clerk of the U.S. Senate with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and a CPA. Previously worked as an internal auditor for a Fortune 500 company and a savings bank as well as an external auditor for a national CPA firm. Member of the Credit Union since 1997. Served 3 years as Chairman of the Supervisory Committee before becoming a USSFCU Board Member in 2006. Currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board.

Margaret “Margo” P. Rushing (Incumbent)

Currently employed as a contractor with Sentech, Inc. detailed to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy since July 2007. Job title: Project Manager. Currently working on DOE American Reinvestment and Recovery Act stimulus projects. Retired as Deputy Chief of Staff from the U.S. Senate in 2007 with 33+ years of service. Prior to U. S. Senate employment, worked 5 years in private industry (2 years for an accounting firm). During Senate tenure, chaired U.S. Senate joint meetings of Administrative Directors and managed the Senate Republican Administrative Managers/Directors and Chief Clerks. Member of the U.S. Senate Federal Credit Union (USSFCU) since 1973. Served on the USSFCU Board of Directors since 2006. Currently serving on the USSFCU Asset/Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and the newly established Growth Committee. Graduated University of South Carolina, AS Business Administration; graduate of the “Senior Executive Leadership Program” at Georgetown University.
