Why did I receive a notice about changes to my USSFCU Visa?

We are changing our Visa programs to ensure compliance with recent regulatory changes and to offer exciting new benefits and features.  These changes will take effect on November 25, 2009..

 

Which Visa program will I have after the changes?

VISA Smart RewardsIf you currently have a Visa Gold account you will be converted to the Platinum Visa Smart Rate program and the new terms will be effective on November 25, 2009.  If you currently have a Visa Platinum account you will be converted to the Platinum Visa Smart Rewards program.  Your current credit card will continue to work until we issue you a new Platinum Visa on your card renewal date.

 

When do the changes take effect?

The changes announced in your notice will take effect on November 25, 2009.  If you desire an increase in your current credit limit, your account will be converted at the time that you accept the credit limit increase.  Your current credit card will continue to work until we issue you a new Platinum Visa on your card renewal date.

 

When will I get a new credit card?

We will be sending you a new credit card over the next few months on your card renewal date.  Your current credit card will continue to work until we issue you a new Platinum Visa on your card renewal date. If you would like a the new Platinum Visa card before your card renewal date just contact us.  We will issue you a new Platinum Visa credit card as soon as the card stock becomes available.  Be on the lookout for additional announcements about the new features and benefits of your Visa Smart Rate or Visa Smart Rewards program.

 
Do I have to do anything to switch to the new Visa programs? 

No, we will automatically convert your existing account to either the Visa Smart Rate program or Visa Smart Rewards program depending on the type of Visa account you currently have.

 

What if I don’t want to accept the changes?

You must contact us before November 24, 2009 and tell us of your intention to opt-out of the changes.  By opting out of the changes your credit limit will be expired and you will not be able to add to your credit card balance.  You may continue to pay off the balance on your Visa Gold or Visa Platinum account under the existing account terms.
