| Credit Union Family Service Center in Springfield, Virginia will no longer be available |
Effective December 12, 2009, the Credit Union Family Service Center in Springfield, Virginia will no longer be available to conduct shared branching transactions.
Transaction volumes at the Springfield location have continually declined to below economically sustainable levels. There are three credit union outlet locations within three miles of the current branch in Sprinfield Plaza at:
- Signal Financial FCU, 5510 Cherokee Avenue, Suite 130, Alexandria
- Fairfax County FCU, 6506 Loisdale Road, Springfield
- Vantria FCU, 6708 Backlick Road, Springfield
• The Signal Financial FCU outlet located on Cherokee Avenue will be expanding their hours of business as follows
- Monday - Friday, 10am to 6pm, and
- Saturday, 9am-1pm
This change becomes effective on Monday November 30, 2009.
• The Vantria FCU Outlet location on Backlick Road in Springfield uses a Self-Service kiosk for shared branching. Kiosks work well for shared branching and are successfully being utilized in many different locations. The shared branch transactions at the outlet on Backlick Road are processes through a Self-Service Kiosk.
Communication will be posted at the Springfield branch describing the branch closure and proximity of the outlet branches. The Credit Union Family Service Center will conduct business as normal during theis time and will close after business on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
