Email and Online Fraud
- Contact your nearest USSFCU branch, call 202-224-2967 or 800-374-2758 or email to services@ussfcu.org
- Stop payments on checks, change passwords, PIN numbers and open new accounts.
- Call (800) 772-1213 to check your Social Security Statement.
Stay alert to new occurrences of identity theft.
- File a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
- File a complaint with the FTC by contacting the FTC’s Identity Theft Hotline by telephone: toll free 1-877-IDTHEFT (438-4338); TDD: 202-326-2502; by mail: Identity Theft Clearinghouse, Federal Trade Commission, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20580; or online: www.consumer.gov/idtheft

- Ask them to flag your file with a fraud alert.
- Get copies of your credit reports and follow up in writing about any accounts that have been tampered or opened fraudulently.
- File a report with your local police or the police in the community where the identity theft took place. Keep a copy for yourself in case your creditors need proof of the crime.
