Updated | 2:00 pm ET • 5/22/2020

Due to the ever-changing nature in response to the coronavirus; hold, response and application processing times may be longer than usual.

We appreciate your patience.

The United States Senate Federal Credit Union is committed to safeguarding the health of our employees, members and volunteers. As we monitor the spread of COVID-19 and associated responses, we want to keep you apprised of our actions and policies to stay safe.  We will continue to assess the situation and ensure you are informed of any decisions to close or alter the operations at the Credit Union.

How We Are Taking Action

We are keeping a close watch on any communications from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and taking precautions to minimize COVID-19 exposure to employees and members.

We are taking extra precautions by cleaning our facilities to better protect our employees and members. Our employees are also being prompted to follow CDC guidelines to wash or sanitize their hands and maintain social distancing whenever possible.

Remote Work

While we are open for regular business hours, most of our staff will be working remotely to support our members while ensuring the well-being of our employees.  Having limited staff available and a change in business operations could result in longer waiting and processing times.

Pandemic Policy

USSFCU has incorporated a pandemic plan to support alternative response going forward. This includes processes and procedures to manage the critical and essential business functions, with considerations for member-facing business requirements in all USSFCU departments including but not limited to the following:

  • Call center operations.
  • Lending and business services operations.
  • Accounting, finance and collections operations.
  • Support services, card services, and e-services operations.
  • Risk management and human resources.
  • Information technology.
  • Marketing and media relations.

Branch and Call Center Status

  • Branches - CLOSED - All USSFCU branches are currently still closed until further notice as a precaution for the COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
    • Eisenhower Branch Drive-Thru - Our drive-thru is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Call Center – OPEN and fully functional with limited staff.
    • Delayed Openings on Wednesdays - Due to organizational-wide training our Member Services Call Center will open at 10 am every Wednesday

CHECK DEPOSITS: It is recommended that any checks be deposited using Remote Deposit Anywhere (RDA), in which the daily limit was increased to $10,000, in the USSFCU Mobile App (Apple and Android).

CASH DEPOSITS: Use our interactive map to find Deposit-taking Surcharge-free ATMs and Shared Branches near you for cash deposits.

It is recommended to call the Shared Branch to make sure they are open. Shared Branches are a unique network cooperative of different credit union branches that allow our members to do simple transactions like deposits, withdrawals, account info, cashier's checks, etc. from your USSFCU account.

Account access is available 24/7 via:

Online Banking – ussfcu.org    |   Mobile App   |   TeleAction (202.228.1156)

Expected Delays

  • Limited Staff/Remote Work - While we are open for regular business hours, most of our staff will be working remotely. Additionally, not all staff will be able to work remotely during this time. Having limited staff available and a change in business operation could result in longer wait and processing times.
  • Mortgage Loans - Due to the volume of correspondence and applications being submitted, processing times could be delayed for up to two weeks.
  • Mail - The mail system, in general, will be experiencing a slow down as mail delivery services work through their response to the coronavirus. This could cause delays in any documents or payments sent through the mail. Additionally, we will have limited staff on-site processing any mail received. We encourage any payments to be made online or over the phone with a Member Services Representative.

Q: Will the Credit Union be offering a special loan or product for assistance during this time?

A: Yes. We are offering our USSFCU Relief Loan, designed to give much-needed relief during this time.

We know that each member has unique circumstances and we are working one-on-one with members to find ways to help them through all of this.

Protect Yourself and Others

There is currently no vaccine to prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

DO THE FIVE - Help stop coronavirus

  1. HANDS - Wash them often
  2. ELBOW - Cough into it
  3. FACE - Don't touch it
  4. SPACE - Keep safe distance
  5. HOME - Stay if you can

For additional steps to help protect yourself and others visit the CDC’s Official Website.

Members' Voice Testimonials

USSFCU puts members first and helps people. Compared to U.S. banks, which forget their humble beginnings and often behave like (they are) above the law. Credit unions seem to have maintained their purpose and USSFCU is among the best. I am proud to be a member and grateful for the service provided by USSFCU.

I've been a member for about 31 years now and I've always been able to count on the USSFCU when I've really needed them.

Excellent customer service. Staff are knowledgeable, responsive and able to provide individualized help. I live in another state and am still amazed how easy it is to use USSFCU for all my financial needs. It has always been this way and with technology solutions, it is easier than ever. But it is the personal assistance that really makes the diffe...

Been a member for a very long time. I have always been treated with kindness and expertise. Keep up the good work!

Love the phone calls regarding possible suspicious activity with my account. It's reassuring to know that everything is safe.

I would recommend the USSFCU based on the excellent customer service I have received from the Senate Credit unions I have visited (Eisenhower and GAO).

Accessibility and customer service have been exceptional. I have been a member for almost 40 years and have always been satisfied with the service and professionalism of the staff.

USSFCU cares about those who bank with it and that caring is not lip service but translates into action.

I have been with the credit union for almost 15 years and all in all am extremely pleased with the service I have gotten. Definitely better than any bank.

Very personable, solution based and takes in interest in your situation.

Unfailing service by dedicated staff. I feel that USSFCU has my back. Staff has gone to bat for me whenever needed. I'm not aware on any mistake or inconvenience in my 30 years of membership. Excellent long term leadership, continuity and service by board.

Easy to become a member and superb customer support. I dealt with two different USSFCU representatives and they were fantastic. I was able to reach them immediately or if they were tied up they contacted me as soon as they became available. They helped me open an IRA and answered any and all questions with great attitudes and professionalism. They ...

The credit union provides relatively good services and the security updates to the system are noticeable.

It took a matter of minutes to open the account and purchase a CD. The credit union that I have done business with for about 40 years took more than a week to close a joint account and transfer the funds to a new account when my husband died.

Outstanding online and mobile banking services. Professional, Courteous, knowledgeable responsive staff!

I am very satisfied to belong to this institution and whenever I need support it is good to know that I count on you.

This credit union is the best, I love the customer service and you can?t beat the interest rates. And I?m happy to be a member of this great credit union.

Great staff helping all the time. Just a very well run company always good service.
