2025 Holiday Donations - Carpenter's Shelter (Alexandria, VA)

The United States Senate Federal Credit Union (USSFCU) is pleased to announce our $10,000 donation to Carpenter’s Shelter in Alexandria, VA.

In addition to USSFCU’s financial support, through generous community and employee donations, two boxes of new winter coats were donated to Carpenter’s Shelter. Carpenter’s Shelter will go on to provide these cloth weather clothing to Emergency and Winter Shelter residents to ensure everyone can stay warm through this holiday season.

Carpenter’s Shelter’s story began in 1982 with the mission to serve the most under-resourced residents in our community to shelter, stabilize, and transition residents into homes of their own while providing immediate solutions and advocating for systemic changes.

Each year, the shelter serves more than 900 children, women, and men with the average family staying about three months while Carpenter’s assists the residents with finding permanent housing. After finding housing, Carpenter’s Shelter continues to support individuals through their Rapid Re-Housing program and individual case management.

Thank you all for your generous donations during this holiday season to support those in need our Alexandria community.
