Bipartisanship and Baseball: Congressional Baseball Game 2026

The beloved annual bipartisan tradition, the Congressional Baseball Game, continued last night, bringing together both sides of the aisle for a day of sport, friendship, and philanthropy. Despite the threats of rain and thundering clouds, the skies cleared just in time for the gates to open and welcome a massive crowd to Nationals Park. With over 30,000 tickets sold this year, the game set another fund-raising record for the second year at $3.2 million raised through the Congressional Sports for Charity.

Since 2016, the Congressional Baseball Game has played in support of charities serving vulnerable families and children in the Washington DC area as well as scholarships to deserving local youth.

While the game closed with a Republican win of 11-2, the real winners are the youth and families who will benefit from the programs receiving funds such as the Girls and Boys Club of Greater Washington, the Washington Nationals Philanthropies, and the US Capitol Police Memorial Fund.
