The Capitol Hill Competition is a congressional competition within the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Race.

Race Day: Sunday, April 1, 2012
Washington Monument Grounds, Washington, DC, 7:30am.

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run® and 5k Run/Walk is held to support Children’s Miracle Network and affiliate hospitals. The proceeds support 170 hospitals that belong to the network across the U.S. and Canada.  For donation information, click here.

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run includes a Capitol Hill Competition among the House and Senate congressional offices. Each year, Congressional staffers enter this time-honored tradition to compete for the Capitol Hill Cup, which is awarded to the team with the fastest combined time. The winning team’s name is etched on the trophy, which is held in that team's congressional office until the next declared team winner.

Last year over 675 Capitol Hill staffers participated in the Credit Union Cherry Blossom race. Senator Lugar's office team, "Running Back Home Again," which won last year in a team time of 3:36:14, is the team to beat in the 2012 edition of the race.

So start the training now to compete for the Capitol Hill Cup!

Packet pick up for those entering with a Senate email will be held at the United States Senate Federal Credit Union HART Branch located in SH-118, on Thursday, March 29, 11am - 2pm.

If you do not pick up your materials on Thursday, you may retrieve your packet at the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday, March 30 from Noon - 7:30 P.M. or Saturday, March 31 from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the National Building Museum (401 F St., NW, Washington, DC).

Please Note: There will be no race-day packet pickup at the race site on Sunday, April 1.
