Financial Literacy: A Core Credit Union Mission
Published: April 7, 2023

Under the Federal Credit Union Act, promoting financial literacy is a core credit union mission. While credit unions serve the needs of their members and promote financial literacy within their communities, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) works to reinforce credit union efforts, raise consumer awareness, and increase access to credit union services.
The NCUA’s official consumer protection website, MyCreditUnion.gov provides financial literacy resources and tools to help consumers learn how to make smarter financial decisions for a stronger, brighter future.
