Capitol Hill Invitational Golf Tournament
Published: September 6, 2019

Towels were waiving, cheers were being thrown out and energy filled the air as USSFCU volunteers gave a big sendoff to the golf teams at the shotgun start to the 23rd Annual Capitol Hill Invitational Golf Tournament.
A Capitol tradition, this year’s tournament raised over $13,000 for Children’s National Hospital!
As long-time CHIGT supporter, a team of USSFCU volunteers made the trek to Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, MD for an early registration check-in with the golf teams. As each golfer arrived we provided gift bags filled with USSFCU golf goodies as well as three raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the incredible raffle prizes at the end of the day. USSFCU contributed a number of raffle items to the event this year, which included two Echo Show 5s, two tailgating sets, golf constrictor, Echo, range finder, player trunk organizer and a Callaway golf bag.
Before the raffle, awards ceremony and lunch was a hot, sunny day on the golf course. Combatting this heat, our volunteers split up into teams and cruised the course, armed with bottles and bottles of ice cold water.
We would be remiss in not bringing attention to USSFCU’s team of incredible golfers who braved the heat to help raise money for a great cause! While our teams just missed the cut to walk away with a top prize, there was one USSFCU golfer that rose above the rest of the field. One of USSFCU’s very own was awarded 1st place for the Women’s Longest Drive! Congrats to her and that powerful swing for bringing back some hardware from the tournament.
